6th Annual International Compliance Awards Dinner

You’ve worked hard all year... Now it’s time to celebrate in style!

Monday, September 13, 2010
7:00–10:00 pm

Buffet Dinner will begin at 7:00 pm followed by the 6th Annual International Compliance Awards briefly honoring the following individuals and organizations for the exceptional work done to further the compliance and ethics profession:

  • Marc Dettmann, Retired CEO of the University of Wisconsin Faculty Practice Plan, provided critical assistance and resources to our organization during our startup. Marc provided equipment, space, travel expense and donated much of Roy Snell's time. We had nothing and no hope of financing the effort. Without his assistance much of what we accomplished in the early years never could have happened.
  • University of Louisville Health Sciences Center; award to be accepted by Dr. Larry Cook, Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, University of Louisville. The University of Louisville Health Sciences Center is receiving the award for their commitment and the essential resources they contributed to the start-up of the Health Care Compliance Association. The University of Louisville Health Sciences Center allowed staff time, dedicated financial resources, and demonstrated buy-in to an undefined profession with a vision of what compliance would be in the future.
  • Kurt Eichenwald, Author of The Informant, Pulitzer Prize Finalist. As author, award-winning journalist, and popular speaker Mr. Eichenwald has shown the costs of compliance failures and the thinking that leads to them. And, along the way Kurt has been a vocal champion for the compliance profession.
  • OECD Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions; award to be accepted by Dr. Maria Gavouneli, Ph.D. (Cantab.), LL.M. (Cantab.), Assistant Professor of International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Athens. The leadership demonstrated by the OECD’s Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions made the SCCE’s decision easy. The Further Recommendations for Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions of 26 November 2009, and the Good Practice Guidance included in Appendix 2, represent landmarks in the promotion and recognition of effective compliance and ethics programs around the world.

Following the brief presentation of awards, the celebration will continue with live music and dancing. Please help us congratulate them and all of you for the exceptional work and commitment you provide to the profession.
