Eric Klavetter

Eric Klavetter is the Director for Privacy at Mayo Clinic and also serves as the Compliance Officer for Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  In this role he is responsible for coordinating privacy efforts at all Mayo sites and for general compliance in Rochester.  His responsibilities have included rotations in Information Security and Systems & Procedures. Prior to joining Mayo, he worked at Brookings Hospital on their ALS Ambulance Service. 

Previously, Eric attended South Dakota State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He went on to the University of South Dakota where he completed is JD and a Master’s in Administrative Studies.
Eric’s course of study at St. Scholastica was the Master of Arts in Health Information Management.  His thesis outlined the necessary components to an effective Enterprise Wide Program On Healthcare Compliance.

Eric is married to Heather, a Sixth Grade school teacher in Rochester and has two year old twin sons, Eli and Parker.
