Howard is Vice President for Compliance & Ethics and Global Anti-Corruption Leader at American Express Co. Mr. Sklar graduated cum laude from Washington College of Law at The American University in 1994, and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1995. Mr. Sklar spent six years at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office investigating white collar crime and founded the computer crime unit there. He then spent six years at the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Senior Attorney in the Enforcement Division. At American Express, Mr. Sklar is in charge of compliance with global anti-corruption laws. He also runs the Compliance programs for American Express Business Travel, the Consumer Travel Network, and Membership Travel Services, and is the compliance liaison for AXP Publishing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Express. These operating divisions comprise over 20,000 employees and operate in countries and markets throughout the world. Mr. Sklar has lectured on investigative techniques and on anti-corruption issues nationally and internationally.
