Jenny O'Brien is a shareholder practicing in the health law group. Her practice focuses on regulatory compliance including fraud and abuse, HIPAA, physician transactions, internal investigations and advice and counsel on repayment and disclosure obligations. She is also Director of Compliance Services for the law firm's subsidiary, Halleland Health Consulting. Jenny brings to the firm extensive experience in creating and maintaining an effective compliance program focusing on the core areas of auditing and monitoring, education and training, and response and prevention.

Prior to joining Halleland Lewis, Jenny was the Compliance Officer and VP of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs for Allina Hospitals & Clinics where she provided oversight to a compliance program that included the implementation and resolution of a Corporate Integrity Agreement, institutional review board and research compliance, the implementation of an electronic medical record, regulatory research and strategic influence with government entities, identity theft and Code of Conduct issues.

Jenny is also a member of the Health Care Compliance Association Board of Directors where she serves as Treasurer of the Executive Committee. She has published articles in numerous health care journals and newsletters and presented at a number of health care related conferences. She also worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the Health Care Licensing Division of the Minnesota Attorney General's Office and the Minnesota Senate on legislative and public policy issues.

Jenny received her undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas and her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota.
