Kaye O’Leary is a founding partner of Tevera Consulting. Tevera Consulting is dedicated to helping companies deliver strategic governance. She has been serving as the Acting Chief Financial Officer of Caribou Coffee (NASDAQ: CBOU) since January 2008, where she is providing strategic leadership and governance during a time of transition.
From March 2005 through November 2007, O’Leary was BUCA, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: BUCA) Chief Financial Officer where she was instrumental in turning a troubled company on the verge of NASDAQ delisting and undergoing formal SEC and DOJ investigations into a viable operator of 91 Italian restaurants. She led a complete restructuring of the staff, systems and processes in the accounting, finance, and technology functions, as well as a re-capitalization of the company. The transformation enabled the company to successfully avoid NASDAQ delisting and settle its Department of Justice and SEC investigations without financial penalty.
Prior to joining BUCA, Inc., O’Leary was Vice President of Finance for Navitaire, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture (NYSE: ACN), which provides outsourced technology solutions to the airline industry. In this capacity, she was involved in developing Navitaire’s growth strategy, which included several acquisitions and the establishment of domestic and international offices. She was also responsible for the finance, accounting, contract management and facilities functions for operations in Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Austin TX, Manila, Sydney and Prague.
Before joining Navitaire, O’Leary served as CFO for Onelink, Inc., (OTC-BB: ONEL) a provider of internet-based business intelligence services to the telecommunications industry. Here, she worked on the restructuring of the business, ultimately leading to the sale of the company. She also served as the V.P. of Business Planning for Carlson Companies. Early in her career, she held positions of growing responsibility in accounting, finance and strategic planning with PepsiCo, Dun & Bradstreet, Dannon, and A.H. Belo.
She is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business and her past recognition includes being selected by:
- Twin Cities Business Monthly as one of 25 Women Industry Leaders in 2006.
- The Northern Lights Chapter of the Association of Management Accounts as the 2006 Financial Executive of the Year.
- Twin Cities Finance and Commerce as one of the Top Women in Finance in 2007.
She holds her MBA in Finance from Pace University and her BS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Western National Insurance Group, on the Board of Regents for St. Mary’s University in Minnesota and on the Board of Directors for Food for Hungry Minds.
