Michael E. Clark, a former federal prosecutor and Chief of the Criminal Division for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Texas, has extensive trial experience in business and professional matters, and has been involved with representing clients in such high profile matters such as Enron and Reliant Energy. Mr. Clark is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law Center, where he has taught Antitrust & Health Law, Food & Drug Law, Civil and Criminal Trial Advocacy, and has co-taught Regulation of Biomedical Research. He also is a long-time faculty instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA), and has taught at its Southern Regional Institute and its Houston Deposition Institute. Mr. Clark holds two advanced law degrees in addition to his JD: He has an LLM in Health Law and an LLM in Tax Law. He has been board certified in Criminal Law since the late 1980’s by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
He is also very active with professional groups and the community. Within the American Bar Association (ABA), Mr. Clark:
- Serves on the ABA-wide Standing Committee on Publishing Oversight;
- Serves on the Health Law Section’s Governing Council and is the Chair of its Publications Committee;
- Serves as Chair of the Business Law Section’s White Collar Crimes Committee (and is a member of the Editorial Board for its peer-reviewed quarterly, The Business Lawyer);
- Serves on the Planning Committee for the National Institute on Securities Fraud.
